Bronzed Bananas

 

For two bananas:

3 TB butter, melted

sugar

1/2 lemon, juiced

rum


Cut bananas in half lengthwise.

Place them in a Pyrex dish or shallow casserole.

Melt 1 TB butter per banana, plus one for the dish.

Pour melted butter over bananas.

Sprinkle them with lemon juice, 1/2 lemon for every 2 bananas.

Cover bananas with a thin layer of sugar, about 1/4 cup. Broil for about 5 minutes, or until tops of bananas get golden, in pre-heated oven. Spoon butter-sugar sauce over bananas.

Remove from oven. Douse with rum. Light. Flame. Serve.

Note to Teddy: Microwaves are great for melting butter. One minute max.
