Baked Pears with Figs



One half ripe Anjou pear per person, peeled, cored.

One fresh or two dried Black Mission figs per person

Candied ginger (opt.)

Dried strawberries (opt.)

3/4 cup liquid for every two pears. May be water or white wine or mixture of both.

Apricot preserves

Put dried fruit under pears and fresh fruit over. Dot with unsalted butter and glop on apricot preserves. Pour liquid over (wine and water). Bake in 400 degree preheated oven for 40-45 minutes. Make sure liquid doesn't all dry up. If it does, add water. Baste the pears occasionally.

Serve at room temperature with sour cream.
